United on the Greens to End ALS

The auction is now close. Thank you to all the participants.
You can still take part in the United on the Greens to End ALS event. Join us during the month of September to play a round of golf, or make a donation to help families affected by ALS and support research.
This auction isn’t only about golf. It’s about hope.
A proud Quebecer and member of the Golf Community for decades, Peter Broome grew up in Montreal competing locally and was a member of the PGA of Canada before joining the Golf Industry.
Now living with ALS, I am joining forces with ALS Quebec to invite you to participate in this year’s “United on the Greens to End ALS”.
“ALS is relentless, but so is the golf community. Together let’s demonstrate how we can “Unite on the Greens” with hope, purpose and compassion for those that need our help.”
The golf community unites on the greens to end ALS
In September, the successful auction bidders will be teeing off across the province. You can join them in showing your support for families affected by ALS – just follow these three steps!
1.Choose an activity to do on September.
For example, you can:
Book a tee time | Head to a driving range | Book a golf lesson with a PGA professional | Play a round of mini putt | Organize a mini golf tournament | Wear green!
2. Get prepared.
– Download and complete our United on the Greens to End ALS selfie sign. Take it with you to your activity!
3. Share your support.
– Snap a pic with the selfie sign and post it on social. Use the hashtag #UnitedOnTheGreens and tag @SLAQuebec. You can also email it to us at golf@sla-quebec.ca
In memory of Patrick Rhéaume
United on the Greens to End ALS was launched in 2024 as a tribute to Patrick Rhéaume, a beloved member of Québec’s golf community. A passionate advocate for the sport who helped countless people to discover the joy of golf. Rhéaume died in 2024 of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) 15 months after his diagnosis.

A successful first edition for United On The Greens to End ALS!
On September 10th 2024, the golf community across the province tee’d up and united on the greens to end ALS.
Over $80,000 was raised! United On The Greens to End ALS is about the power of community and the positive change we can create when we come together as one.
Thank you to the many participants, golf courses and partners. Looking forward to seeing you this year.
What is ALS?
ALS is a life-limiting disease that profoundly changes the lives of not only the person diagnosed but their loved ones who must provide increasing care and support as the disease progresses, limiting the ability to move, eat, speak, and eventually breathe. While there are some treatments for ALS, there is no cure, and most people with the disease will live for two to five years after their diagnosis.rnrnu0026nbsp;rnrnFunds raised will support all areas of ALS Quebec’s mission from support and education to research and advocacy. Locally focused and broadly connected, ALS Québec works closely with families affected by ALS, health care providers, researchers, industry and partners regionally, nationally and internationally to accelerate progress toward a future when an ALS diagnosis means something very different than today.
