The 19th edition of the ALS Quebec RIDE brought together more than 250 cyclists and volunteers on August 22 and 23 in Nicolet, for a memorable weekend. They came together for the event’s first-ever presence in the city, raising more than $366,000 to support families affected by ALS and advance research.
It was at the Montfort Hotel that the ALS community gathered, in a warm and supportive atmosphere. Cyclists of all levels rode between 60 and 100 km through several municipalities in the Centre-du-Québec.
A successful first for Nicolet
By welcoming the ALS Quebec RIDE for the very first time, Nicolet opened its doors to a community driven by resilience and solidarity.

Researchers alongside the community
Several researchers dedicated to end ALS were also on hand for the occasion, including Dr. Geneviève Matte and Dr. Richard Robitaille. Their presence alongside the community was a reminder that research on ALS remains the leading source of hope for better understanding the disease, developing new treatments, and ultimately finding a cure, to end this disease.

Over the past 19 years, the ALS Quebec RIDE has raised more than $4.7 million to support research and services offered to families affected by ALS across Quebec.
The event will continue its journey next year in a new region of Quebec for its 20th anniversary!
