About PLS and PMS
The Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) is a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disease that resembles ALS. Initially presenting with stiffness, spasticity, and pain in the lower limbs, PLS exclusively affects the upper motor neurons. In comparison, ALS involves both the upper and lower motor neurons.
Progressive Muscular Atrophy (PMA) is another disease similar to ALS, marked by muscle weakness, clumsiness, and potential falls. Unlike ALS, and similar to PLS in its limitation, PMA exclusively affects the lower motor neurons.
