Tribute and memorial fundraisers

Involve your family and friends by creating a fundraising page where they can make a memorial donation or give in honour of a milestone. Unlike a one-time donation in memory or in honour, tribute and memorial fundraisers show the total of your collective fundraising. This is a meaningful way to engage your loved ones in honouring someone special and giving to your shared cause.

Need some help?

Maybe you’ve got a great idea for a fundraiser and don’t know how to make it happen – or you want to show your support but aren’t sure where to start? Either way, let us know. We’ll work with you to make your initiative a success and make sure you’ve covered off details like tax receipts and insurance. We’d love to learn more about your fundraising idea and answer any questions you have.

Start a Facebook fundraiser

Do you have a milestone coming up or simply want to engage your social media connections in supporting the cause? You can create a Facebook fundraiser that directs donations to ALS Quebec! Here are a few things to know before you get started:

  • Meta (the company that owns Facebook) no longer covers processing fees since October 31st.
  • The tax receipt for your donation will be issued by PayPal Giving Fund Canada and will be sent to the email address you use to log in to Facebook.
  • We do not receive information about donors or fundraisers who give via Facebook, and we cannot issue tax receipts for donations made through Facebook fundraisers because the donation is not made to us directly. If you have a question about a donation, tax receipt, or your fundraiser, you must contact Facebook directly.
  • While fundraising on Facebook is an effective way to raise funds and we are grateful for the support, we encourage you to use our online platform. This allows us to be in contact with you and those who give through your fundraiser, and to support you through all the steps of your fundraising.
