Clara C. Verhas-Breyne, a caregiver, comedian and mosaic artist by training, will share her experience with ambiguous loss, followed by a presentation with Johanne De Montigny, a psychologist who specializes in loss and bereavement.
This conference will cover the theme of ambiguous grief, which refers in part to the grieving that happens beforehand, the one we dread, that is also known as anticipatory grief, which we try to ignore and plunges the caregiver into ambivalent feelings that touch upon their love, their sense of duty, and their feelings of exhaustion. Couples where one person requires care and the other provides it are trying to adapt to a new life.
The presentation will be followed by a question period and discussion.
1:00pm to 4:00pm
You are welcome to join us as of 12:30 PM for snacks and drinks
