16 years ago, my mother was living with ALS. Today, as I write these words, I am optimistic and committed to doing everything I can, with you, to help further our ultimate mission forward: winning the fight against ALS.
It is an honor to be the new volunteer Chair of ALS Quebec’s Board of Directors. Our board is made up of dedicated and passionate people who lend their time and diverse expertise to help ensure that our team in collaboration with the community, provide the best possible services and programs, maximize our sources of funding to support our mission, ensures that our voices are heard and that we build solid long-term plans for the future.

On behalf of the ALS Community, I would like to thank Luc Vilandré, our former Chair and continuing Board member, for his leadership over the past thirteen years, and his co-creation of the
Ride to Fight ALS along with recently former board member Dominic Delambre. Ten years later, the cycling event has become one of our premiere events and major sources of funding along with the Walks for ALS and many events organized by the community.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we would like to acknowledge the unique and precious support provided by all our volunteers. Each gesture they generously make has a decisive impact on our mission and helps us focus our efforts on what counts most: supporting families in their fight against ALS all across the province and funding research.
All of our volunteers, which include Ambassadors, participants, fund-raisers and professionals willing to share their skills with us, give our community hope for a future without ALS.
I truly believe that together, we can achieve greater things.
With gratitude,
Susan Kennerknecht
President of the ALS Society of Quebec’s Board
